It's been a very long week and I got off of work early today, so my daughter and I took a little walk and I took my camera with me...its amazing what happens when your cruising the neighborhood! There's some very lovely flowers in the area, as well as interesting people - ran into some kids my daughter goes to school with and they wanted to try the camera...I allowed them to take some pictures and I am going to post some of what was taken! The view from the eye of an 8 yr old is what I call them.
But first, back to my first love - photographing Flowers!
And now, the view of the neighborhood and friends from the eyes of an (8) year old!

Editing Pictures, May 25, 2011
Another day with nothing truly important to say, but I do want to brag a bit, my purple tea roses are blooming FINALLY and I went out in the heat and had some fun with the camera and editing software.
Ok so maybe I lied - editing pictures can sometimes be the hardest thing to do, deciding which ones to make Black & White or Sepia tones and which levels of those tones. You have to look at the picture and play - that's usually the optimal way to decide how to edit your pictures.
With cropping though, its best to just remove any overt background 'noise' or things in the picture you do not want...ex your taking a picture of your friends standing on a busy street, or in front of a nice building and when you get it back to your online studio you discover there's an ad for a hot dog stand right off to the side of your friend...cropping will allow you to remove this. Use cropping also to create effect, get close-in to your subject, or focus on one aspect of the subject. Use your imagination!
Below are some pics that I've edited using www.picnik.com as a basic editor. I don't have photoshop, don't know how to use it, so I stick with the basics!
Enjoy!
