The USS North Carolina

Well back again, it seems three weeks after my last post, getting really bad...seriously need to do some work photographically and get myself back up to par...holy cow!

We went to visit the USS North Carolina today, it's a WWII Battleship decommissioned in the 1960s and brought to Wilmington, NC to be established as a museum - it's a really cool place!  Here's a link to their website: USS North Carolina Battleship NC, Website

Portraiture...07/25/2011

Ok so I seemed to have dropped off the face of the planet for awhile - things have been, shall we say, not so pleasant and extremely busy.

I did manage to FINALLY get around to taking the kiddos' summer portraits.  I do these bi-annually, summer and then right around the time school starts, yes they aren't spread apart very far, but alas, they are done!

I tend to try and allow the kids to decide the setting, and the 'scene', that way they are totally comfortable in their environment and willing to work with me.  Sadly, my oldest, decided he didn't want to cooperate, but I still managed to get some really good ones! Enjoy!!

At the request of my son - I took this picture of our kitty Callie tonight...she really does not like having her picture taken, so on the rare moment she stays still I have to grab her.

She and Austin have become good buddies, she follows him all over the house and practically lives in his room...sleeps with him every night and just loves her Austin!

Well once again I have zero words of wisdom, but I do have some lovely pictures of my rug-rats when they were out playing with the hose today - as it was very hot today, we do not have a community pool, and our van died on us, so we were left to our own devices...this is what I came up with!

A Cool Find at the Mall...Oil Burner From Nepal

I love all things unusual and off the wall...well some things are off the wall...but more or less unique.  Stumbled upon this on Sunday while we were cruising the mall...it's imported from Nepal and they sell it at a kiosk in our mall...I Lurve it!!!

I did edit some of the pictures using www.picnik.com - one of the easiest to use websites in the world and it's FREE!!!  Anyhew, this was also a practice in low-light photography, I chose a low ISO setting, and higher aperature...awesome aren't they?!?!?

Got my Camera in Hand tonight FINALLY! And took some new pictures of our latest foster pup, Hurley!

She and her sister Billie were found at a Gas Station, alone and hungry and brought to Wilmington to be adopted!  We took her in and here she is!

Missing my Camera...it's been almost a week since I was able to take pictures, and I am going through withdrawal.  Life has just been so chaotic lately that I haven't had a chance to take any pictures...going through some SERIOUS withdrawal, I've said that already, haven't I??? LOL!!!
