Following Them Around...

Ok so today I took the kids outside to ride their bikes and play, it was a beautiful day so I figured why not, ha ha!! So of course the camera went with me, and some magic happened today!

To bring all up to date, I use a Samsung HZ50W a very basic point and click with some of bells and whistles of a DSLR Camera, but much simpler.

So here's what happened today!

Of course I took the family dog with us, a Rottweiler-Shepard Mix named Nixon and here's some of his shots.  He's so very easy to photograph, I bring out the camera and the charm comes on with him, he just loves having his picture taken as will be seen with some of the below where he appears to almost be laughing.  As I've always said, some may think a dog lacks personality, those of us owned by a dog will know different, Nixon brings it to the forefront with these - they ooze personality!

Welcome 2012!

Hello 2012!

Imagine thinking that the new year brings with it new possibilities...well of course don't we all? Sometimes I wonder if the new year will in fact bring new possibilities, or if its just the string of items flowing through from the previous year? I believe in fate 110% and know in my heart of hearts that nothing, and I mean, NOTHING happens on accident! There's always something giving a little nudge, shove, what have you that is greater than ourselves.  What that is varies person to person, myself its a Goddess by the name of Gaia, she works with me, within me, and helps me along; she puts obstacles in my path to help me learn, she gives me victories to help me see the point of the obstacles.  And she puts people and events into my life to make it worthwhile.  I think that 2012 will bring with it some new obstacles - I have a sense there's something on the horizon and that something is coming before the year is out.  I know ZERO clue what that is.  But when Gaia is ready and when she feels I am ready, she'll tell me.

How does this pertain to my photography - well it doesn't - but I have decided to take a step back and just enjoy being behind the camera for awhile - honing my technique and working within the confines of my skills and learning how to use them to the fullest potential!

That being said, I am going to share some of my Christmas album with ya'll for the fun of it! Had a chance to meet my uncles newest family member, Amy, a 5-month Golden retriever who is just a doll! Spent more time with my future brother-in-law, and just enjoyed the holidays for all they are worth!

Enjoy!

Meet Amy! Isn't she a Doll?!?!?

Capturing Animals...

Yesterday I posted about photographing children and how hard they are to catch with a camera...they are difficult yes...BUT I think that Animals are by far the hardest.  They are unpredictable, and tend not to do as instructed.  But at times those pictures of your companions can come out positively beautiful!  That is if you are patient and allow the animal to dictate how the photo shoot is going to go.  Some say that using treats and someone else to help you will get you the best pictures, but in my opinion I think that letting them guide you sometimes is the best way to capture their personality and then some!

See what I mean here:

With each of these pictures I just caught the dog or cat doing what they enjoy doing, or what they were doing, I didn't interfere, I just let it go and sifted through the pictures after the fact.
