Animal Rescue Stuff...A Found Kitten, August 2011 - Sept. 2011

Sometime in early August, I received a very interesting call from my husband, he told me we'd have a visitor for a short time - I asked who and he told me a little black kitten our son had found all alone up the street from our house, just sitting between two houses in our neighborhood - my hubby attempted to locate Mom and the rest of the litter - but to no avail.

When I got home I discovered she had a tail injury and was missing 3/4's of her tail - we took her to Banfield Pet Hospital at PetsMart as it was the nearest open vet w/out taking her to the emergency clinic.  We found out she was healthy, and everything looked good, but the tail req'd surgery for a cost more than we could afford.

So that night we set-out to try and find a rescue organization in our area who could help us, and low and behold Adopt-An-Angel was willing to help! She's had the necessary surgery on her tail and has been spayed and is now up for adoption!

So with no further adieu I'd like to introduce you to Pickles!

Been Long Gone...Missed My Audience!

Going to try and pick-up where I left off as best as I can...took the kiddos to the beach on Labor Day, I know what were we thinking? But hey when you live at the beach, its a lot easier than going on vacation, LOL!!!

Enjoy some of the shots I took that day!  I used the Sand/Snow Auto Setting on my camera so it would automatically change the exposure, f stop, and shutter speed!

The USS North Carolina

Well back again, it seems three weeks after my last post, getting really bad...seriously need to do some work photographically and get myself back up to par...holy cow!

We went to visit the USS North Carolina today, it's a WWII Battleship decommissioned in the 1960s and brought to Wilmington, NC to be established as a museum - it's a really cool place!  Here's a link to their website: USS North Carolina Battleship NC, Website

And, some of the pictures I took today:

Portraiture...07/25/2011

Ok so I seemed to have dropped off the face of the planet for awhile - things have been, shall we say, not so pleasant and extremely busy.

I did manage to FINALLY get around to taking the kiddos' summer portraits.  I do these bi-annually, summer and then right around the time school starts, yes they aren't spread apart very far, but alas, they are done!

I tend to try and allow the kids to decide the setting, and the 'scene', that way they are totally comfortable in their environment and willing to work with me.  Sadly, my oldest, decided he didn't want to cooperate, but I still managed to get some really good ones! Enjoy!!

A Picture a Day...Tuesday, July 5, 2011

At the request of my son - I took this picture of our kitty Callie tonight...she really does not like having her picture taken, so on the rare moment she stays still I have to grab her.

She and Austin have become good buddies, she follows him all over the house and practically lives in his room...sleeps with him every night and just loves her Austin!

Enjoy!

A Picture a Day...Saturday, July 2, 2011

Well once again I have zero words of wisdom, but I do have some lovely pictures of my rug-rats when they were out playing with the hose today - as it was very hot today, we do not have a community pool, and our van died on us, so we were left to our own devices...this is what I came up with!

So enjoy!!!
